Big-Data Initiative in International Macro-Finance

Large-scale data-driven research has revolutionized many fields in the social sciences. Empirical work on this scale often presents specific challenges for PhD students entering the field. This initiative seeks to lower these barriers to entry by sharing knowledge, codes, and data as a starter kit for new researchers. Each year, the Big-Data Initiative in International Macro-Finance brings together 30 PhD students from schools worldwide for a two-day workshop on using big data in international macro-finance research. Materials from all previous years of the initiative, including the lecture videos, are available on this website.

The initiative is made possible by the generous support of the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation and Stanford Graduate School of Business.
